I still believe people are people but I also believe that in being "people," we are most comfortable where we are welcomed. Please go to the other sites and invite them over here. Funny how the comment agreeing with my message was deleted. While the comment missing the point is praised.

On another note your comment about "serving their market." also seems to denote that mainstream media does not follow the achievements of black executives because it is not in their market? Really? A quick scan through any major news site will show they all exist and I am sure none of them would like the lessening of their achievements you offer them through the suggestion they could only be found here.

It is amazing that in a country so integrated with race and religion we would need an outlet for any one group of people to shine when as we all know great people of any color and any religion will shine regardless of publication or forum.

We're not racist nor segregating. Our site does not and will not prevent anyone from reading writing or contributing. The difference between us and most other mainstream tech sites is simply the audience in which we target. The African-American US population is approx 12% and you would be hard press to find 1% the content covered by mainstream tech sites that even mention African-Americans owned sites or AA executives. Its as if they don't exist, and a quick scan through our site will prove that's not the case. Are mainstream sites racist or segregating... of course not. There's just serving a their market.

I think this site is racist. Blackweb? Really? I suppose there shouldn't be a Whiteweb2.0 because all the internet is white? A bunch of self segregationists if you ask me. Is there any reason at all that a topic of discussion should be seen from a black perspective? Is that not inciting difference just in itself? People are people and the quicker everyone learns that the sooner media like this site as well as "BET" will be shown for the outlets of separation they are to all human beings.

I think we all notice here that racism doesn't really give positive results whether you are black or white, whether we use facebook, twitter or other social networking websites.. People are just sensitive in things like these so its better for us to ignore it and try to create positive things, stuffs that can help and motivate each one of us..

You are mad because someone you like said something racist. I am sorry she got an overwhelming response from the racist thing she said. She screwed up. Don't say racist things on a public forum and expect everyone to embrace. You are right, the people attacking her don't know her, but if she makes comments like that, why would they want to, after all being a black equates to being ghetto in her mind. I don't have patience for ignorance, even if the ignorance comes from a "sexy and relevant" girl. In terms of double standard. Too bad you didn't mention the racism that took place at the BET Awards. Jamie Foxx clearly hates white people and even called Miley Cyrus a white bitch. I am 65 and African American.

BET with just a very few exceptions is and has been Plantation Television for a long time even under cheap-ass Robert Johnson.

It fails to properly present a cross section of Black people, plain and simple, sorry to say.

I dont really like how we trash ourselves for the BET awards but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Lord knows we are our own toughest critics and it hasn't always been a bad thing to be a tough critic. It makes us get our act together. The Apollo audience isn't the cruelest in the world for no reason.

I think some of you guys are being unfair to the younger people and their taste in music. The older people trashed our hip-hop 20 years ago, remember? Now we do that to the young people because they like lame-ass Soulja Boy. LOL! It seems unfair.

What would people have rather seen on the BET awards? I haven't watched them in years--2009 was the first time I watched in a long time so I dont have any other references to go by. What do people think would have improved the award show? Not being facetious, I really want to know because I'm not really into popular music anymore. What would have made the show better?

I cannot believe that people would have the audacity to post such mean and hateful content on twitter. Things such as this made me sad to call myself an American when we continue to hate on each other rather than trying to grow and learn from each other. The people who had the nerve to sit at their computers and write such things as “ Why are all these black people in trending topics? Is it Black History Month?” obviously have so king soul searching to do and feel the need to lash back when there is something they felt like they had on lock (but was NEVER theirs to begin with) was overwhelmingly taken over by others who were simply conversing and enjoying an award show like no other (lol). But I honestly feel as though racism is here to stay whether it is on the Internet, the club, or on the street corner as long as people continue to be jealous of others and unhappy with themselves this country will never have a chance to evolve in result just stunting our growth……..

Like someone said above, when you post things in a public forum you must expect this kind of backlash, there is that potential...especially with social media. @brighteyesjulie is a funny girl. I’ve been reading her stuff for a while now, and she’s got some real gems. A few days ago she posted the above.

She was promptly attacked, defamed, and covered in vitriol. At the low point, she was referred to as a “wack bish”; and I found the entire exchange hilarious. But it got me thinking. @brighteyesjulie, unbeknownst to her, became a shining example of double standard over night. She was like a proverbial Don Imus, except sexy and relevant.

I was okay with watching this from afar for a while, as a novelty. But now it’s affecting my funny. You see, nearly her entire stream is now dedicated to fending off attacks that she’s a racist, limiting my joke intake. That’s no good for anybody. @brighteyesjulie isn’t racist. Nor is she ignorant.

Contrary to popular belief, white people can make facetious or satirical jokes without being ignorant racists. This is one such case. And the racist accusations constantly thrown around at trivial things only cheapens said accusations when they really deserved to be made.

So leave the poor girl alone and let her go back to making us laugh.
