Black Web 2.0: Getting Things Done with Doit.im

  • Lynne d Johnson · 3 weeks ago
I was about to use this as a replacement to "Things" but it really doesn't do that for me. I was trying to figure out the benefits of "Things" vs "Remember The Milk" and now that I know of this one it complicates the game. I mean, it's like "Things," but it doesn't have those features that Evernote has, whereas you can attach docs, etc. I'm starting to think that "Things" is the ultimate and I might just have to plunk down the bucks. What does make doit.im and RTM great though are the mobile apps (coming mobile apps in the case of this app).

RTM is fine, but I just need it to have more GTD features. It's a bit simple and some may say something like "Doit" and "Things" are overkill. Still torn, You just added to my confusion of best app to use. Again, I figured "Things" was it, since I used to use "iGTD." But how many apps give you all the syncing features you need and blend a little bit of Evernote's features in it. You might say just use Evernote then, but even Evernote costs a fee when you want to use all the capabilities.

    Agggghhhh

Thanks Rahsheen for helping me agonize even more over how I should Get Things Done!

    Great review BTW.

This is a great post. You might also want to check out Springpad (http://springpadit.com). I work there so I'm biased, but its a great site to help you find, organize, personalize, or share your stuff. You can save recipes from any website to the online recipe book and then create meal plans and shopping lists from your recipes. Other apps include a receipt tracker and wine notebook. You can also create task lists and set reminders for weekly chores. It's also great for creating notebooks with all the info you'll need for your next trip - like creating lists of places you'll want to stay, restaurants you want to try, hikes you want to go on, and activities you want to do - marked with your personalized notes and links to every website you want to come back to. Create a group of books you want to read. In the Holiday Gift Planner, you can add gift ideas throughout the year, clip from the web, upload photos, sort by priority. It will all be there when it comes time to do the shopping. Access your springpad on the go with our mobile app. Share your notes with friends and family with a click. Would love to get your feedback on what you think!
