Black Web 2.0: Monetizing your Twitter Feed

  • Villager · 8 months ago
I have Black Web 2.0 as one of my RSS-feeds. So, I don't always come to your blog to comment. I just wanted you to know that your reviews of various products and blogging strategies is very much appreciated.

re: monetizing Twitter accounts - have you implemented any of the ideas or products that you write about in this post?

I've tested Magpie, but haven't used it full on because I wasn't sure how relevant the ads would be. Tinker's ad network isn't fully launched yet. I was most interested in using Mashable's SocialAds wordpress plugin and did try to give that a good try however it is broken for us. If you see how it is implemented on Mashable though it looks great and isn't intrusive at all so that is my preference above all options. We are still trying to get it to work.

I use Magpie. Just trying it out. It doesn't seem to have lost me any followers yet. I'm very selective about the ads I let them post to my followers, though.

Yep makes sense, have you tried any tech related ads w/ them? If so I may give them a try, I was testing it for a client I had on their account but it was unrelated to tech or anything Black and was more of like a general market kind of thing. Needless to say there was an abundance there ;)

Really finding relevant ads are slim pickings. There are a couple of gadget
ads, but that's about it. I also don't authorize anything that requires a
sale only stuff that pay-per-view, so that narrows the pool even further.

I use Magpie as well. The only thing that annoys me is the random pop ups. I would tweet 20 times, but then... it won't pop up until my 75th tweet. It's mad behind. :(

    It can be glitchy!

I use MagPie i love it sofar i have earned $300.00 since signing up with them in October.
I will be interviewing the CEO sometime in April they are headquartered in Germany.
Once i made a foolish error of sending my earning to advertising versus Paypal i emailed them in 4 hours the money was posted to my PayPal. Additionally my earning have consistently increased as my follower count has increased. Right now they are paying me $6.27 in Euros per tweet they send out via my account which once i received that amount in US Dollars its more :). As far as followers i havent lost any that complained to me.

*Yeah, yeah- I know. Too lazy to sign up with Disqus. *
I think just about anything can work if- like Rahsheen said- you're selective. If you have time to keep an eye on stuff like that, rock that ish. :) I don't know if I'll even monetize my twitter stream, but on my sites I use a combination Google AdSense, Glam, BlogHer, and a few relevant affiliates. Pretty simple, but works for me!
