I been surfing the web for many years since its inception, and the sites that stand out the most to me, are definitely one's most people have yet to discover. I like innovative unique functionality, and visual effects that aren't to much for the eye.

Here's my number one favorite today, it's Called 'CloudTops', its a unique way to navigate the web's best sites, & considered to be a Cloud navigation tool , It's not a search engine though, But it definitely holds it own amongst the web giants out here. Once Google releases the all new Chromebook, this site will compliment it in every way.

I know that there are quite a few auction sites around at the moment but I found this one which is slightly different as it offer a bit of a twist to the auction process with the lowest unique bid winning the auction. The bids are sealed so the bidders do not know the bid values through out the auction until the very end.

Students at the University of Colorado have created www.stusjobs.com. It is a free job website using google maps. It's also free for employers to post jobs and search resumes giving job seekers a lot of visibility. If your familiar with posting jobs then you know even Craigslist charges $25 to post jobs in major cities.

Hello. I'm not sure if you have had a chance to checkout some of the large dating web site companies around today - but almost all of them have a common aspect... high monthly subscription fees and confusing searches. My friend at work was telling me about how expensive it is to meet someone online - depending on the site. I know that myspace and facebook are good alternatives to meeting people, however they tend not to foster the dating environment that a site dedicated to dating does.

You may be asking why I'm writing this here. Well. I am a web designer and programmer and have come up with a solution to these crazy fees.... www.slideDATE.com . It is a website fully dedicated to people, profiles, and pictures. I also plan to keep this site free for as long as possible, to help increase membership. In addition - individuals that sign up for the site before it begins to charge... will keep their free membership for the life of their account. :)

Anyways. The site is not 100% done yet, but should be ready to go very soon.

I really am inspired by the number of Black-owned websites being launced.
There are also 'Social Entrepreneurs' in the community who are trying to do their thing too.

All in all, anything to raise the aspirations and encourage progression is a positive!

@Tiffany: Thanks for that link cool concept though the foundation could work on the design, etc. I could see this working from state to state though.

@GreasyGuide, @BlackAdTalk: Yoonew or BlackObserver are not clone sites. The others have specific content that is supported by the platforms they have chosen.

You should check out www.njlivingcolor.org --- a great cultural website started in New Jersey--would be nice if other states could do the same. (The foundation hosting the website is co-chaired by Oprah's Stedman Graham).
