This is one of the best hotels promotion I've ever heard about and it is, indeed, a clever strategy of self-promotion. Vegas has many hotels so they all fight for popularity.

This is a clever strategy to attract both clients and improve the hotel's image. The Vegas Hotels aren't the first to tweet promotions, I read that Ritz-Carlton Hotels' president started tweeting in 2008 under his own name. Following his innitiative a rival chain of hotels in Dallas started offering free rooms and discount coupons over twitter.
